Happy New Year!
After a couple weeks of vacation, I am just starting back with my training here at Wealthy Affiliate. The most recent lesson was about the importance of images in your posts and organizing your website. I really do need to work on this to create a more welcoming/accessible website. I am a little apprehensive about changing things because I’m afraid I may lose all my work in the process.
Barnes and Noble Affiliate
I applied to be an affiliate for Barnes and Noble, so you may see an advertisement for a book or two in the sidebar soon. I plan to become an Amazon affiliate also, but I am going to wait a month or so before I apply.
No Recent Earnings 🙁
Although I made $20 a couple weeks ago, I haven’t seen anything since then.
Overcharged By Wealthy Affiliate
I noticed that my credit card was charge the monthly fee for the last two month even though I had already paid the yearly membership fee. The good news is that I was able to get in touch with Kyle (one of the Wealthy Affiliate owners) pretty easily and he got back to me within a couple days. I expect this will be cleared up shortly. If not, I will let you know.
I Want to Create Niche Website
I am still trying to come up with that perfect money making niche website idea! I’m thinking I’m starting a notebook listing possible ideas for a new site.
Still Relatively Happy with My Decision to Join Wealthy Affiliate
Although I do find myself unhappy with some aspects of my Wealthy Affiliate journey, I still believe joining was the best choice for me. As a totally newbie, I would not have known where to start without the help of WA. The training is excellent and unlimited. It is obvious that Kyle and Carson have put a lot of effort into making WA a quality site. The members here are beyond helpful whenever I find myself needing an answer to my questions.
My biggest complaint at this point is what I believe is the sneaky way they try to get you to become a member of Jaaxy (keyword tool website). When you join WA, it is stressed that it includes all you will need to start your own website and this is true. However, even though WA does have its own good keyword tool, there are many mentions of the superior quality of Jaaxy’s keyword tool. Members are even encouraged to sign up for Jaaxy’s free limited membership (which includes 25 free keyword searches, I believe). The owners of Wealthy Affiliate also own Jaaxy, so I do not think it is “right” for them to advertise for Jaaxy (membership cost is $19 month) through WA. Jaaxy is more convenient than the WA keyword tool, but I cannot justify the extra $19 month until I have a consistent income. I would be 100% happy with Wealthy Affiliate if it included free access to Jaaxy.
