3 months with Wealthy Affiliate

I can’t believe I have been at this for three months.  I have seen some success and continue to learn.   To date, I’ve earned $50.75!  This is what is keeping me going.  If I can make a little, I figure, I can make a little more.

Need to put forth the effort:

Lately, I have not been working on my website as much as I should.  I know this will be the key to my success.  I understand the importance of creating content on a regular basis.  I think I am going to try to make it a goal of mind to add content at least twice a week for now.  I do believe that the most successful individuals write frequently, especially when just starting out.

I also have not finished my bootcamp training and I should be working on that everyday!  There is so much useful information available and I need to take advantage of it.

Reimbursed for the overcharge:

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that Wealthy Affiliate had double charged me.  I contacted the owner, Kyle, and he took care of it for me 🙂  He researched the transaction and got back with me to apologize and correct the error.

Social Media Sites:

I’ve learned the importance of having active social media accounts.  Unfortunately, this is not something I have much experience with.  I do have a Facebook account, but I keep it private and maybe have 40 friends.  I opened a separate Facebook account and am trying to connect with more people.  I now also have twitter, google+, and pinterest accounts.  I am hoping with practice I will become more comfortable with social media and am able to take advantage of the contacts made through these sites to attract more traffic to my website.

Being an Affiliate

I had mentioned in a previous post that I applied to be a Barnes an Noble Affiliate, but I have not heard back from them.  Possibly, I did something wrong when filling out the application.  However, I have been accepted as an affiliate for Shopathome com and Ebay.  I have not used any Ebay links, but I’ve earned $0.75 through Shop At Home (a free cashback site).  I am having some difficulty understanding how to best use the affiliate links in my posts. Both Ebay and Shopathome’s affiliate programs include detailed information on how to succeed as an affiliate.  I plan to spend some time over the next few days reading through this information.

Google Analytics and Ghostspam:

Google Analytics is used to track website traffic and I had been watching this closely since I opened my account.  I was so excited one day when I noticed that there were a lot more visits to my website.  Unfortunately, I discovered that they were not actual visitors.  It was ghost spam.  I am not sure I have a clear understanding of ghost spam, but it messes with the data on google analytics and records visits to your site that never occurred.  I am working on trying to fix this so I can trust Google Analytics again.

Thanks again for reading about my journey with Wealthy Affiliate.  If you’d like to leave a message below, I’d love to hear from you!

Su 🙂
